On such days, opting for a calmer experience on Boardman River or an inland lake is advisable.

Another great option is "Yoga in the Vines" hosted at Black Star Farms Winery and Mari Vineyards, it’s the perfect fusion of yoga and wine tasting. Immerse yourself in tranquil yoga sessions amidst the picturesque vineyards, followed by indulging in exquisite wine from these renowned wineries. Mari is known for it’s gorgeous view overlooking the Grand Traverse Bay and is known for being one of the best wineries in Michigan.
Becky (pictured above), who runs Yoga in the Vines, also offers private yoga classes any where of your choosing: private residences, parks, beaches, in nature, etc. I’d recommend picking a local beach (Clinch Park, West Bay, Haserot, or Vans are all great options) so you can take in the views, watch the ships go by and listen to the waves. She tailors all her classes to your groups experience level so it is great for beginners and experienced yogis. She also brings all the equipment for you: a sheet so you don't et sandy, soothing peppermint cream to place on the back of your neck and palms, and best of all: champagne for a a little celebratory cheers after the class. Bonus, she also takes tons of fun pictures and videos of your group. If you love yoga and being outside in the summer, it's a can’t miss experience in Traverse City. Be sure to allocate enough time to enjoy yourself: the class takes about one hour but give yourself two so you can relax with a drink after.

VASA Trail: A Nordic skier's paradise with well-groomed paths, rolling hills, and stunning wooded surroundings. providing 3k, 5k, 10k & 25k trail loops that feature rolling hills and a few challenging climbs.
Boardman River Trail: 24 miles of trail stretching all the way south of Traverse City to Brown Bridge Quiet Area. This easy trail is perfect for any skill level of hiking and with numerous trail heads around Traverse City you can start anywhere and hike as much or little as you please! Perfect place to bring your family, your pup (on a 6-foot leash of course), or if you enjoy trail running!
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is renowned for its beautiful trails year round. The park’s 13 trails range from 1.5 miles to 14.7 miles in length, and plenty of options for snowshoeing.
